One of the four core purposes for education in Wales is for young people to become ethical, informed citizens of Wales and the world. To be informed we need to know where we have come from, what influences our present so that we can better understand where we are going. History at St Richard Gwyn gives young people a great opportunity, to frame big questions of enquiry and think about the human experience across time. In the modern world of sound bites and social media, History also nurtures the incredibly important skill of being able to analyse and spot bias in what we read. We can think more independently and strive to make the world a better place to live in.
