Smiles All Round!
It was 'smiles all round' at St Richard Gwyn when school leavers collected their GCSE results this summer.The teachers were rightly proud when pupils exceeded the target set by the Vale with 100% of girls and 98% of boys leaving school with a qualification at GCSE.66% of the results were grades A*-C. We were delighted that the gap between boys and girls has narrowed, with 91% of boys and 92% of girls gaining 5 or more GCSEs. The results in the core subjects of maths, English and science were particularly pleasing.

Most of St Richard Gwyn pupils progress to St David's College to continue their studies. Pictured here are the school's past Head Boy and Deputy Head Girl. Shaun gained a double distinction in Performing Arts and the Welsh Baccalaureate at the College and is looking forward to continuing his studies at Aberystwyth University, while Helen, who achieved 4 A grades at Alevel in Maths, English Literature, History and French plus the 'Welsh Bac'goes to Durham University to study for a Combined Arts degree.
