Flood Update

It is with much regret that I write to inform you that our application for grant aid put forward on our behalf by the Vale of Glamorgan Council has been turned down by officials at the National Assembly. The bid was for a scheme costing £189,000.

This is exteremely disappointing given that the governors have invested over £10,000 in surveys and consulatancy fees in preparation for what we thought was a viable option to reduce the risk of flooding at this school.

No official reason has yet been received as to why the bid has not been accepted but in the past the comment was made that 'they could not justify spending public money on one business'. It seems that in WAG eyes the education of children is treated the same as a local factory.

It is my view that the Vale has done all it can to support us and this latest slap in face comes from the only group of people who have the necessary resources and influence to have a lasting impact on our problem.

Parents can feel rest assured that we will not give up in our fight to reduce the flood risk at this school. But the sad fact is that until sufficent funds are made available we will be at risk of further floods.

This page will be updated when there is more news.
