Prayer
School starts with a prayer at 8.30 am for staff and in morning registration at 9.00 am for pupils. In the afternoon pupils end the day with a short reflection or assembly.
Parishes
The school serves four feeder parishes. In the Bridgend Deanery is Our Lady and St Illtyd in Llantwit Major and
St Cadoc's in Cowbridge. In the Cardiff West Deanery is St Helen's in Barry, St Joseph's in Penarth and St Mary's in Dinas Powys.
We have strong links with the parishes and are pleased to welcome the priests into school on a regular basis for the celebration of the sacraments. Each year the school takes part in formal celebrations of Mass in the parishes and parishioners are welcomed at school for a variety of religious and social events.

Liturgy
The school employs a chaplain whose work is to coordinate the spiritual and liturgical life of the school as well as having a wide pastoral role. Mass is celebrated every week for 150 students and Advent and Lent are times for major celebrations of reconciliation and reflection. The purpose-built chapel is a centre for all pupils and is a much valued sacred space for quietness in a very busy world.
Charity Events
The school has a flourishing St Vincent De Paul Society which coordinates the charity work of the school. CAFOD is the main charity supported, but we also raise funds for the British Legion, Marie Curie, Lepra, Bobath Cymru and many other causes close the the hearts of pupils or teachers. Our House charities this year are:
Belmont ~ Jam Fund
Caldey ~ Marie Curie
Llantarnam ~ NSPCC
Margam - Teen Cancer Trust
Whitland ~ RNLI
Every year the SVP distribute 40 - 50 hampers to the elderly, lonely or families in need in our feeder parishes and invite local senior citizens to daytime performances of our drama productions or carol services.
