TEACHING CLASSES

Years 7, 8 and 9 are divided into two equal parallel sets – Maroon and Black (M & B).

The classes are identified as G, O, S, P, E, L.

There is no ‘upper’ or ‘lower’ set, they are equal. Students’ progress data and information from subject staff will ensure each student is placed in the best class given their own ability whilst taking into account any social considerations.

The parallel setting system is a consistent feature across all years and gives improved flexibility to move students, based on performance into different classes as students can move vertically, horizontally and diagonally.
